New Car Reviews GM showed a slide of the Spark to be Detroit: Sneak Peek at Chevy Spark: Car will debut at GenevaSneak peek now; debut set for GenevaBy Sandy Heng
Last year GM showed off the Beat, the Groove and Trax... three interesting minicars designed in Korea by GM Daewoo. During the year, consumers were asked to cast their ballot for their favorite. By popular vote, the winner was the Chevrolet Beat Concept. Two million people voted for the minicar, asking GM to bring the Beat to America. At the Detroit Auto Show, GM responded with YES! The Beat will come to the United States, and the production version will be renamed the Spark. GM couldn't resist teasing the media with a sneak peek of the 2011 Spark, showing off a photo of the production model, but not the actual car. Designers are saving the Spark debut for the Geneva Auto Show. GM says the Spark will be highly fuel-efficient, seat four and offer a hatch back. The minicar is about the size of a Honda Fit. The Spark is expected to be sold with a small fuel-sipping engine, and be a car that should be able to squeeze into the tightest of parking spaces. Stay tuned... |
