MINI Crossover Concept Parisian Debut: Cloth roof on this 5-door MINI

The MINI Crossover Concept was revealed to the public today at the Paris Motor Show. Mother ship BMW is embracing crossovers with the X6 and the rumor-wrapped 3-Series crossover seen in spy photos earlier this year.

This 5-door has the look of the MINI with rounded corners. The door configuration itself is a bit unconventional with three normal front-hinged slammers and two cantilevered sliders. Completely opening both the driver's side conventional front door and sliding rear door gives unencumbered access to the rear seat, easing say, the installation of a child seat.

The folding cloth roof is reminiscent of some dreadful old French designs. After 30 years, maybe the Germans got it right.
