CURRICULUM VITAE Emile Bouret: Road Test and Design Editor ![]() Emile Bouret has been enamored with automobiles since his early childhood. A graduate of Art Center College of Design with a degree in Transportation Design, Emile has over 15 years experience in the automotive industry as a car designer for various manufacturers. His client list includes Porsche, Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Mazda, and Swift Engineering, among others, with both production cars and concept cars to his credit.
Additionally, he has nearly 25-years experience in racing. Beginning at age eight racing three-wheeled ATVs in the AMA, Emile transitioned to car racing after attending the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School. It was there that he won his first scholarship to race, winning the 1990 Graduate Run-Offs. His driving career progressed through the ranks culminating in factory-backed efforts in production-based sedan racing in the U.S. Emile has also worked for car manufacturers such as Ferrari, BMW, and Audi as a product trainer, demonstration driver, and driving instructor in the U.S. and in Latin America. A self proclaimed "Car Freak," Emile somehow finds time between testing cars, writing about cars, and instructing aspiring drivers, to paint and illustrate his favorite automotive subjects. Clearly, his passion for the automobile comes through in everything he does; "As shallow as it may sound to non-car people, cars are my life. I live, breathe, and dream about them, and feel very fortunate that I've been able to make a living by surrounding myself with cars." |
