The 5 Best Midsize Sport Sedans

We love this car. The A4 sedan offers the same drive train and handling characteristics as Audi's fabulous A5. Maybe the A4 is not quite as sexy as its coupe stable-mate, but "WOW" still describes it nicely.

There's a fluidity to the way it moves that makes anyone behind the wheel into a better driver. It's got great brake feel. The gas pedal seems to produce instant reactions. The car communicates in a language previously known only to BMW drivers.

The A4 is completely well-mannered at high speed. The paddle-shifting six-speed automatic is totally obedient, and we're suckers for tools that are true. It lets the driver drive, even if he is an idiot bouncing off the rev limiter.

Clearly an over-achiever, the A4 follows in the tread marks of the other driver-oriented Audis: the RS4 and R8. And what it gives up in performance to those two, it more than makes up for in everyday practicality.
