Volkswagen, Europe's largest automaker, has been faring a bit better than the overall industry in these chaotic times. Nonetheless, VW is offering some attractive incentives this October on several vehicles including the sporty R32. With its 3.2-liter VR6 pumping 250 horsepower through a 6-speed automatic direct shift gearbox to all four wheels, VW's pocket rocket consumes just over 20mpg (combined). And that may have convinced VW to offer R32 buyers zero-percent financing or up to a $2k rebate.

In fact, zero-percent financing is currently available on all 2008 VWs. Alternately there are cash rebates ranging from $2.5k to $5k on Passat models and a whopping $6k to $8k rebates on Touaregs. Volkswagen is one of two companies (with BMW) currently offering sales-motivating dealer incentives.
