The BMW X6 M crossover is the iconic M Division's first crack at AWD - a program to stretch the market of the company's luxury line. The X6 M's sister, the X5M SUV, will be following along soon.

The M treatment is all about performance with a 40-percent horsepower boost for the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 to 555, plus a stunning 500 lb-ft of torque. The 6-speed M Sports Automatic with paddle shifters delivers the goods to the 20-inch light alloy wheels fitted with fat run-flats. The X6 M will stop too with brakes getting the full M treatment. The driver may choose Normal or Sport mode activating special damper and stabilizer bar controls as well as steering mapping.

As you can see, the X6 M has been designated Official Safety Car of Moto GP.
