New York Auto Show Top 5

There was great variety and many choices, but here are the best

Scion iQ

Undoubtedly the most puckish creation on display at New York was Toyota's Scion iQ Concept - one of that flourishing new breed of urban warrior but with street attitude. This micro-subcompact is yet another Scion collaboration with Five-Axis Models of Carson, CA, and boasts robust nose and fender treatment - the latter housing 18-inch wheels.

Interior accommodations are labeled 3 + 1. A compact AC unit behind the center stack allows the front passenger dash and seat far enough forward for a normal human to sit in the rear seat. Behind the driver, the plus-1 can be a pet or small child. Rear seat occupants are protected by a unique rear-window air bag. The Scion's 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder, VVT-I engine pumps out a useful 93 horsepower and safety and convenience features abound.
