THE ONCARS 5 New York Auto Show Top 5There was great variety and many choices, but here are the best2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee We judged the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee the most significant introduction in New York. Chrysler's rebound strategy rests on this best-ever Jeep and its brand new 3.6-liter Pentastar flex-fuel V6, destined for numerous Chrysler models and maybe even an Alfa or two. The Grand Cherokee is built on a stiffer chassis (auto instead of truck) and features Quadri-lift air suspension with an on-demand 11-inch bump in ride height. In the traction category, the Quadra-Drive II AWD features dial-up settings for sand, mud, snow and rocks. One glance says, "This isn't your father's Jeep." Contrary to tradition, the 2011 Grand Cherokee looks like a modern product with its rounded edges flowing into clean lines, accentuated by muscular fender wells - appealing to both urbanites and the outdoorsman. Hopefully, you'll find this new Jeep at dealerships early next year. |
