Here are the best new production cars from the Detroit Auto Show

2010 Jaguar XK & XKR

Jaguar's ownership has changed hands from Ford to Tata, but executives say the design philosophy will remain the same: building beautiful, fast cars.

On the surface, it appears not much as changed between the 2009 and 2010 models. But under the hood there are tremendous changes.

The 2010 XK has a 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 with 385 hp, 380 lb-ft of torque and a response rate of zero to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. The XKR has even more zip with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, delivering 510 hp, 461 lb-ft of torque and zero to 60 in just 4.6 seconds.

How to tell these cars apart? Just look for a touch of chrome on the lower front mesh grille to identify the XKR with the beefy engine. Both cars will be available this summer.
