5 Great Sports Cars

A sports car is a very personal thing, so it's entirely possible this list of 5 Great Sports Cars won't include all your favorites. But this is our list, and it's based on cars that we recently drove at the Motor Press Guild's annual Track Days at Auto Club Speedway.

Let's be clear that sports cars like the perfectly engineered Mazda MX-5 and the soulful Pontiac Solstice GXP belong on any critic’s list of greats. But when you only have 5 slots to fill, you have to make some tough calls. Super sports cars could have their own list, as could affordable sports cars for $25,000 or less. But we boiled the list down to just 5, each with a different engine design, whose prices (with a few options) span from about $30,000 to $60,000.
